A Pretty Good FIT.

I was finally able to get my hands on the Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation. I am in the shade 120 Classic Ivory. I had been dyyyyyying to try this foundation out after watching Goss Makeup's video. I was browsing around at my local Target, and I dove in and bought it for $6.99 + tax.

I know I definitely do not need anymore foundation or BB cream, but I'm seriously always on the hunt for the next best thing for my skin. I'll try almost everything to achieve that no makeup makeup for my complexion.

This foundation has a really strange texture. I was a little off put by it because it doesn't give you much time to blend out the product with a brush. My favorite way to apply this foundation is with my fingers; the warmth from my hands really helped to blend the foundation into my skin. I loved the way it felt on my skin, it really feels like second skin--not cake face. The color choices are vast, however just looking at the product in the casing, it looks a lot lighter than it actually is once it's on the skin.

As far as coverage, the Fit Me Stick foundation did a pretty decent job of evening out my skin tone. It doesn't completely cover my hyper pigmentation, but the foundation + my Makeup Forever ProFinish powder covered up just about everything. The longevity of the product is pretty decent. It didn't last as long as a lot of my BB creams, however for such a weightless foundation I couldn't complain too much.

All in all, I would suggest this product for those with combination skin, but not for someone that has dry skin or just oily skin. I noticed that it tended to cling to dry patches on my skin. It's a good affordable item to use when you're in a rush or if you want something very simple to use.

I would rate this 8/10.

L'Oreal Stained.

It's always dangerous when I find myself roaming the beauty section of drugstores. I tell myself that I definitely don't need anymore makeup, and that I should use up all of the products that I have at home. BUT, it's just so difficult to resist!

I found myself perusing the L'Oreal section at my local Rite Aid. I originally got trapped into that section because my mom needed me to buy her a new mascara. When I saw that L'Oreal was having a Buy One Get One 50% Off sale, I validated to myself that this was the perfect reason for me to finally try the L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Aqua Laquer Lipgloss (lipgloss stain) that I had been eyeing for the past couple months.

I debated between trying Coral Tattoo or Pink Rebellion. However, Pink Rebellion was sold out, so I opted for Coral Tattoo. Of course, as always I swatched it in my car and even applied some before running into work. I definitely have to say that I like the product; it does have a weird texture when first applied, but it's nothing I can't live past. As far as the color, it's 10% coral and 90% red, at least on my lips. The stain looked like a vibrant red, but when I applied it the next day with a thinner coat, a slightly more coral shade showed.

As much as I know I shouldn't buy more lip products, I really want to pick up Pink Rebellion and Rose On And On. I definitely love my pink shades! And how perfect would they be for the summer!

MUST. RESIST.

Makeup Amigos.

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to attend The Makeup Show Los Angeles, where I finally got to meet my YouTube friends, Sarah & Connie (OnleeAmore, cyexquisite). We all had been talking through Kakao Talk for the past month about this long awaited show, and it finally happened! Sarah and I even go back to last year where we had been planning for a long time to meet or even double date, but timing just never worked out. I was so happy to meet these girls, learn more about the professional makeup industry, and also to shop. Shopping is always fun! I definitely think these friendships are special. It's not everyday you meet someone that loves beauty & fashion and talks about in front of the camera they way you do!

At The Makeup Show I had to make sure I stopped by the very large Nars booth. I picked out an eyeshadow duo in Earth Angel as well a well-known blush in Deep Throat. The Nars booth was so incredibly busy that they somehow forgot to give me the blush I had ordered. Which I was bummed about, but it's okay--saved me some money! The eyeshadow I picked up is a beautiful taupe paired with a frosty military green. I am so excited because I have a ton of neutral shades in my collection, but I do not have anything green toned. Below is a swatch of the shadows in natural lighting.

The colors are incredibly blendable and they both go very well with my Urban Decay Naked Palette. Which is my all time favorite palette.

Today, I treated myself to some coffee. I was just having one of those days where I knew I needed a pick me up! I'm wearing the shadow in the picture, but it's really hard to tell. AND I'm also wearing a hoodie...talk about "one of those days." Hehe!

Cheers to new friends!

I Curled My Hair!

I've been posting videos on YouTube collectively for about a year and half now! I mainly post beauty & fashion videos. I've posted everything from makeup tutorials to outfit of the days, but I've never posted a hair tutorial!

I've always been a little self-conscious about my ability to do hair. I definitely don't think hair is my area of expertise, it never has been. Since I was young, I never really knew how to braid (I still can't do a french braid for the life of me!) or to do any crazy hairstyles. I was quite the tomboy and always wore my hair in a ponytail.

One of my subscribers on YouTube asked me to show how I get my big wavy curls, so I thought it was due time for me to share!

Side note: I am at work and I am so hungry!...I'm always hungry. Haha!

Winter Round Two.

For the past few days in Los Angeles, it has been super cold. Definitely not east coast cold, but colder than it usually is during February. A coworker of mine says it's because of the cold fronts coming from Alaska. We have wind coming from ALASKA! How cool is that? No pun intended.

Anywho, since last year or so, I've been saying to my boyfriend how I really want one of those sporty, poofy jackets. The ones that make you look about 15 lbs. heavier. Whenever I see people wearing them (i.e. my boyfriend) they look so incredibly warm. The only jackets I have are fashion jackets, coats, or hoodies. I want a "The North Face" type of jacket that has like goose feathers in it or something. Haha, or something that keeps the heat insulated close to my freezing body.

The only thing is that they're soooo expensive. I went to Marshall's today, hoping that many of them would be on sale since we're quickly approaching spring. However, they only had 3 regular priced Calvin Klein puffy jackets in hot pink or orange. I loved the hot pink--it definitely is eye catching. It was in a size small, which fit perfectly. As I was getting all excited and preparing myself to shell out $70 (half the price of retail), I noticed that all three jackets had a bizarre, almost denim like stain on the sleeves. I didn't want to risk buying it and the stain not coming out.

I am still on the hunt for a good quality sporty, puffy jacket without the $200 pricetag.

Sidenote: The correct term for the jacket is "puffer jacket." But somehow puffy jacket just sounds cooler. Haha.

Truly Sexy Red.

Like I promised myself, I went back to Target today and picked up another Covergirl Lip Perfect Jumbo Gloss Balm. This time I opted for a far more daring color than my normal pink shades. I haven't worn red lips in--wow, I can't even remember the last time I put red lipstick on! Scarlet Twist 250 is a beautiful true red. When I first swatched it, it was an orangey red...which sort of took me by surprise (not in a good way). Then I swatched a second layer and VIOLA! Beautiful!

On my lips, I applied about three layers to build a vibrant red. I think on those days where I want just a splash of red one to two layers would do. I love that these Jumbo Gloss Balms are so buildable.

There's just something so classy about red lips, it reminds me of the old Chanel ads I used to love in fashion magazines when I was young. Although red lips are super classy, there's also something so daringly sexy about them. I feel like every woman should experience that sexiness that exhutes from having a good red lipstick or in my case "gloss balm" on!

Which one do you think looks better? Hehe! I can't decide, I love them both.

Gloss + Balm.

I was strolling through my local Target picking up some essentials (i.e. shampoo, conditioner, schedule book, etc.), when I stumbled across the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm display. I had tried the Clinique Chubby Sticks first, and a crayon type of lipstick from Sephora. I liked both of them, but I wasn't fond of the color selection.

The Jumbo Gloss Balm collection showcases 16 different colors varying from a very light pink to a deep purple. The Target near me did not have all 16 shades, but they had a pretty good selection to choose from. I wanted to first see if I liked the formula so I picked up just one. The color I chose is 220 Haute Pink Twist. I wanted a vibrant pink, most of the pinks in my makeup "arsenal" are so muted or safe looking. I wanted something that was going to amp up my simple "only eyeliner" daily makeup look. At the Target near me, they are priced at $6.99 each.

I couldn't wait to try it on, so as soon as I jumped into my car, I swatched it as well as gliding the gloss onto my lips. Compared to the Clinque Chubby Stick, the packaging itself is quite nicely made, it has a nice retractable tube (like the Chubby Sticks), however it feels a lot more loose. The formula itself glided on very nicely and I could tell that the balm was going to definitely be moisturizing. The color pigmentation is out of this world! I only swiped it back and forth 2 times and the color was noticible.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Revlon Lip Butters, so I'm always second guessing whether I'll like colored lip balms/stains. The Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balms do not even compare to the Lip Butters. I love this product. I'm definitely going to be buying a couple more colors--I have my eyes on a red one!

I give this product a 4.5 out of 5.
That 0.5 point is deducted due to the fact that the stick of balm wiggles a little when applying it onto the lips, other than that it's a perfect product!

WHOO HOO for finding awesome drugstore products!

Be Mine.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Every year from what I could remember, I was always either occupied with school projects or busy with work on Valentine's Day. This is the first year where I actually have the day off! I am so excited because I am in an awesome relationship, where I know that Valentine's Day is going to be just another reason to celebrate being with my loving boyfriend.

I was so excited to create a simple Valentine's Day look. I wanted to keep it neutral and subtle, which is completely my style. However, I may bold up my eyes just a little more by drawing a thicker cat eye.

Love Sick.

I want to film a makeup tutorial video sooooo badly. As you read in my previous post, I've been sick for the past week. The thought of sounding like a pre-teen boy does not sound attractive to me at all. Today marks the first day of feeling better! I plan to film a Valentine's Day Look for my YouTube channel! I have been playing around with shade colors as well as asking my boyfriend a lot for his opinion.

I wore the makeup look today and received three compliments already! I'm going to try my best to have the video up by Friday!

Side note: when it's chilly outside my teeth hurt. Am I the only one?

So Sick.

If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, you will know of how sick I have been for the past week. You see, I was so good about not getting sick--almost a one year streak. However, this winter the cold virus is a whole other monster. I began to feel the common effects of the cold virus: sore throat, congestion, watery eyes, and a little bit of coughing. Then, my sickness has totally blown over to become head congestion for 7 days straight. I can't hear, smell, taste, breathe, think. My head is constantly aching, and I can almost hear my own heartbeat...in my head. I have tried my best to keep those around me away from my sickness, but sadly, my boyfriend has gotten the brunt of my sickness. He is now officially sick.

Whatever this monstrous virus is, I hope that it doesn't affect anyone else around me. I feel so awful--no, I literally feel awful, physically. Make sure to consume a lot of Vitamin C, and make sure you're getting your daily dose of vitamins! And if you are battling a cold/flu, I wish you better health very soon!

On With The Healthy.

I've been pretty bad this week with the numerous times I ate out. Although, I do try to opt for healthier eating choices when I go out to eat at restaurants. I will admit though that I love the occasional bowl of pasta, side of fries, and even sometimes a sangria. Hehe.

However, with all of the indulgence this week, I wanted to make my boyfriend and I a healthy lunch after church. We conjured up a delicious stir fry composed of broccoli, yellow bell peppers, onions, carrots, fish cakes, and tofu with brown rice on the side. It was so so so yummy!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I finally got around to filming a beauty video for my YouTube channel. The video is on my recent acne skincare routine--something that was highly requested. This week I'm going to try my best to film 1-2 videos! Oh, I also bought a few things in a recent hangout session with my friend, Jenna! I'll probably either do a video or blog about it soon!

Jane

I Am What I Eat.

Today, my boyfriend and I met for a random lunch date. With our busy schedules, we try to squeeze in as much time to see each other just to stay sane. In indulgence we smothered our faces into our In-N-Out burgers. Oh, so good!

For the past two weeks I've been consistently drinking green smoothies every morning and night. Not only do these smoothies taste great, but they also do an amazing job in detoxifying your body. I saw the improvements in my skin. However, there were a couple days that I skipped, and found my skin feeling the lack of nutrition. Today was one of those days. I think it's really important to eat and drink healthy! Our bodies need nutrients and lots of water. If we deprive our bodies of that, it will definitely physically show.

I am definitely back on track--I can't wait to drink my smoothie tomorrow morning!
If anyone is interested in recipes, let me know!

Jane

Fresh Start.

I've realized that it's been over a year since I've written anything in my blog. I had even neglected my YouTube channel, however over the past month & a half I've gone back into the groove of making videos. I have also decided that it would be a good idea to begin blogging again--something that I loved so much.

With the new year and a brand new start, I deleted all my previous blog posts. I found that I was only writing when I wanted to promote my videos and lost site of the pure joy of expressing my thoughts and sharing the things that I enjoy.

To me, this year, 2013, is all about achieving my dreams and thinking and feeling outside the box.
Please, join me on this journey! It's going to be a great one.

Love,
Jane
